Paternidad Activa de Adolescentes - In response to an increasing number of parents asking for classes that focus specifically on parenting teens, Good Samaritan piloted a new program this year based on Active Parenting of Teens by Michael H. Popkin, Ph.D. This program helps parents meet the challenges of parenting teens and preteens in today’s turbulent society, providing skills they need to communicate effectively with their teens, encourage better behavior, use positive discipline techniques and teach responsibility. Each session also helps parents learn how to address sensitive issues that are vital to today’s teens, such as drug and alcohol use, sexuality and violence.

Kid's Turn – This psycho-educational workshop for families experiencing divorce or separation teaches parents how to support the positive development of their children during this difficult transition. Children share their feelings in a safe space with peers in the child component. Good Samaritan is the only agency to offer this program in Spanish in the Bay Area.
